Philosophus

Presented by Best Medicine Rep at Lakeforest Mall Community Room

Best Medicine Rep, Gaithersburg's home for professional theater, presents a free reading of the hilarious farce Philosophus by Colin Speer Crowley. Directed by Stan Levin.

A little poetry is a dangerous thing.  It’s 1757 and the world-famous philosopher Voltaire has fled the court of Frederick the Great, intending to publish a sensitive manuscript of the King’s poems.  But Voltaire’s attempts to embarrass the monarch run afoul in Frankfurt, where he is arrested by the autocratic Baron Franz von Freytag and must scheme his way to freedom.

Sunday, November 12, 2017, 3 pm, in the Community Room of the Lakeforest Mall, 701 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg (Green Flower entrance between Ruby Tuesday and Sears).
