Free Chamber Music Concert for All

Free Chamber Music Concert for All

Presented by Rock Creek Chamber Players at Christ Lutheran Church of Bethesda

Our January concert promises a special experience for all. We just might even knock your socks off.

Pianist Steven Schwarz brings us Rhapsody, a gorgeous work he composed and, in our view, titled most appropriately, as well as his Variations on the Hymn 'Softly and Tenderly.'

Ten-year old cellist Seyun Park will play the third movement of Haydn's C major concerto with pianist Young Ji Kim.

After intemission Dr. Liana Valente will perform the song cycle "The Artist Speaks: Creative Conduit" composed by Dr. Sharon Guertin Shafer to poems of Gene Markowski.

Our usual engaging commentary enriches your listening experience. Do join us. And just try to keep your socks on!

Accessibility Info

From the parking lot behind the church, someone who is using a wheelchair or scooter can enter the sanctuary, where the concerts are held, without steps by using the nearest side door. That door is closed once the concert begins, as it provides entrance near the stage. A farther side door, unlocked throughout the concert, has one step and provides entrance near the back of the sanctuary. Neither door has an automatic button for opening.

A unisex family restroom is located near the sanctuary, without steps. The facillities do not have handrails or automatic door opening.

Audience members who use wheelchairs attend our programs. They are typically accompanied by a family member or assistant.
