Rimsky-Korsakov’s fairytale opera
Set in the Russian city of Novgorod in the 12th century. Young gusli-player Sadko travels around the world, finding love, wisdom and knowledge, magic and truth. Performed in costume, fully staged.
Second performance in US since 1930. The opera is filled with incredible melodies, dances and images of medieval Rus. Sung in Russian with English projected supertitles.
