The Rock Creek Chamber Players will explore the sources of inspiration for composers in a diverse and delightful program.
What inspires composers? It might be Shakespeare, a friend's death, or American cowboy songs. In our March concert, we'll explore these and other sources of inspiration
Solo guitarist Charles Mokotoff will perform music of Purcell, Scarlatti, and Lovelady. It's always a pleasure to hear Charles play in the lush and friendly acoustics of our space.
After intermission, French horn player Shane Iler joins Jonathan Newmark, pianist and composer, in Jonathan's short Chaconne & Fugue written in memory of a dear friend.
We then turn to the Fantasy Trio by Robert Muczynski. It draws from sources including American cowboy tunes and 'Bartokian' rhythms. David Kass, clarinet, Taka Ariga, cello, and pianist Felicia Weiss bring us this humorous and lively work.
Engaging commentary enriches your listening experience.
