Backyard Habitat: Tips and Tricks for Attracting Birds and Insects

Backyard Habitat: Tips and Tricks for Attracting Birds and Insects

Presented by Sandy Spring Museum at Sandy Spring Museum

Did you ever wonder who eats ants? This and many other questions will be answered by Betsy Taylor, Master Gardener and Naturalist. Betsy has worked for over 15 years with Montgomery County Parks and Brookside Nature Center. She will provide insights into easy ways to encourage friendly birds and insects to visit and live in your backyard by providing a welcoming environment. She will also explain steps to take to restore the natural balance in your backyard ecosystem. Everyone will make a bird feeder to put to use in your yard! Bring a 750ml San Pellegrino or Perrier glass bottle, or a 2-liter soda bottle.

In addition, at this program we will have a seed swap. Join in the Garden Club’s Annual Plant and Seed Swap by bringing one or more of your own selections to trade.  To help others, please label pots and seed packets with the plant name and seed collection date/growing year.

This program is sponsored by the Sandy Spring Museum’s Garden Club. Anyone is welcome to attend the event and membership to the Garden Club is also open to everyone!
