Celebrate our refugees’ strength and fortitude this World Refugee Day. Enjoy refreshments with your community while learning about others’ struggles and successes. Explore the resources and connections available to our refugee population.
The United Nations has declared June 20, 2018 as World Refugee Day. http://www.un.org/en/events/refugeeday/
Honor this movement by joining Sandy Spring Museum and our community when we gather to commemorate the strength, courage and perseverance of millions of refugees. This year, World Refugee Day also marks a key moment for the public to show support for families forced to flee. This event is being held in conjunction with Uprooted: The Art of Refugees, a curated collection of artwork on exhibit at the Museum.
Also on hand during the program will be organizations that provide various services to refugees. Light refreshments will be served, please pre-register.
At Sandy Spring Museum everything we do is because of you! Do you have an idea for a program to host here? We provide the environment and inspiration for you to create and host events, performances, activities, and exhibits that engage, stimulate, and bring people together to build connections to history through the cultural arts.
This event is free.
