Enjoy a Beethoven sonata for violin and piano, solo piano works by Chopin and “Piano Guy” Jon Schmidt, and a new quintet for piano and strings by local composer Jonathan Newmark.
Do you enjoy Chopin and Beethoven? The violin? The piano? How about The Piano Guys? Are you keen to hear a new piano quintet? If you answered YES to any of these probing questions, come to a fab concert for Mother's Day.
Susan Yeh and Chen-Li Tzeng will perform a Beethoven violin sonata, then Yuri Chayama will play two Chopin works - an impromptu and a scherzo - plus All Of Me by Piano Guy Jon Schmidt. After intermission, local composer Jonathan Newmark performs his piano quintet with string players Jean Provine, Miriam Goldberg, Caroline Brethauer, and Valerie Matthews. Engaging commentary will describe the mothers of the composers!
