Summer dance camp for dance making of all genres, Intermediate levels welcome, Grades 6-8
This camp is for students interested in dance making of all genres. Students will explore what inspires movement, how to manipulate movement, and how it reads to an audience. Every day will consist of a short modern warm up, phrase work, guided improvisational exercises, and time to create your own material. The camp will also involve group work to share and create movement and choreography that is more complex. Students will also collaborate through observation and giving feedback. The camp will culminate in an informal showing of the choreography we have created during the week. Please join us on the last day of camp for an in-studio class demonstration for friends and family. Prerequisites/Level: Two years of prior training in any style of dance required to attend this camp. Recommended Attire: hair pulled back and dressed in comfortable, form-fitting attire that does not restrict movements.
The one-week long session cost is $545. New students pay an additional $35 registration fee. Camps run 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, drop-off begins at 8:30 AM. Aftercare is available from 4:00 – 6:00 PM for an additional $125 per week. Camps will not meet on Independence Day, July 4, 2018, the camp that meets the week of July 4 will be prorated. See website for additional details. Register your student for any three camps and save 10%, available in studio only.
