Gaithersburg SummerFest

Gaithersburg SummerFest

Presented by City of Gaithersburg Arts and Events at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm

SummerFest kicks off at 5 p.m. with The After Party Experience, a dynamic and energetic live band featuring some of the region’s most talented singers and musicians paired up with an on-stage DJ. Enjoy rock, pop, country, soul, R&B, hip hop, jazz, Motown and current hits right up until the fireworks begin. Stay for an encore performance during the SummerGlo After Party, taking place from 10 to 11:30 p.m. after the fireworks.

Throughout the event, enjoy strolling entertainers, food trucks and craft beer tastings from local breweries, inflatable amusements including a dual-lane zip line, kid’s activities, face painting, balloon twisting, volleyball, and field games. Get creative with the Slow Mo photo booth and work alongside a chalk artist to create fun street art. “In the Dark Circus Arts” will perform aerialist shows and a variety stage will showcase local talent from the Gaithersburg community.

Once the sun sets (approximately 9:30 p.m.), a spectacular fireworks display with light up the night with bursts that launch up to 500 feet in amazing colors and styles. Optimal viewing areas are at Bohrer Park and at several points in surrounding locations. A map identifying best viewing spots is available here.

If you plan to wait out the traffic after the fireworks, we invite you to join us for our SummerGlo After Party. The After Party Experience will perform an encore performance while LED hoopers, jugglers, stilt walkers, and glow balloons entertain the crowd. The playground will be fully lit, and you can purchase glow-in-the dark merchandise to be part of the fun.

Guests are welcome to bring their own food and blankets to enjoy a picnic during the event, or purchase a meal and treats from a variety of vendors and food trucks. For safety reasons, outside alcoholic beverages, weapons (real or facsimile), glass containers, and fireworks of any kind (including sparklers) are strictly prohibited. Pets are not recommended due to crowd and noise issues. If brought, they must be leashed. Skateboards, rollerblades and bikes will be confined to the Skate Park. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in public spaces in Gaithersburg.
