This two-day workshop helps beginning and intermediate artists learn to observe and create a believable effect of light and shadow in their paintings. By using still life setups, careful observation and hands-on exercises, students learn how to create artwork that glows. The promises and pitfalls of painting from photographs will also be discussed. Students are encouraged to use an opaque painting medium that they are comfortable working with: oil, acrylic or gouache. A supply list is available at the Arts Barn.
