Close-up Magic with Will Slade

Close-up Magic with Will Slade

Presented by Sandy Spring Museum at Sandy Spring Museum

Close-up magic is a specialty performed in an intimate setting usually no more than ten feet from one’s audience. Also known as “sleight of hand,” it usually involves manipulating cards and small objects such as coins.

Will Slade is retired from the US Secret Service, where (while off-duty) he entertained presidents, members of many First Families, foreign dignitaries, members of the Press Corps and elected officials. He is a member of The Magic Circle. If we are lucky, he may share a tale or two from his fascinating career, included how he collected the English penny used in his show from Buckingham Palace.

Audience will be limited to twenty people so everyone gets a close-up seat. Tickets are $25 each or $50 for a limited number of front row seats (sitting at the magician’s table!). Informal wine and cheese reception to follow performance. No one under 16 years old is permitted to attend this program.
