Featuring Terri Ellen Cross Davis and Ann A. Philips reading from their poetry, plus open mic, and literary trivia quiz.

Teri Ellen Cross Davis is the author of Haint, published by Gival Press and winner of the 2017 Ohioana Book Award for Poetry.  A Cave Canem fellow, she has been awarded residencies at Hedgebrook, the Soul Mountain Writer’s Retreat, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. A member of the Black Ladies Brunch Collective, her work has been published in magazines such as Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Delaware Poetry Review, Gargoyle, and many anthologies. She is the Poetry Coordinator for the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C. and lives in Maryland with her husband, poet Hayes Davis and their two children.

Ann A. Philips' first collection, A Language the Land is Inventing (WordTech Editions, 2017) was honored by Beltway Poetry Quarterly as one of 2017’s ten best single-author poetry collections from the Mid-Atlantic. Ann taught writing and literature and practiced as a psychotherapist for over a decade. Her poems have appeared in Borderlands, Green Mountains Review, Verse Daily, The Sow's Ear, Gargoyle, The Midwest Quarterly, Big Muddy, Little Patuxent Review, The Northern Virginia Review, The Humanistic Psychologist and elsewhere. Raised in Columbia, Missouri, she now lives in Washington Grove, Maryland.
