At just 25 years of age French harpsichordist Justin Taylor ranks among the most celebrated early keyboard performers.
Capriccio Baroque is thrilled to present harpsichordist extraordinaire Justin Taylor in his Washington DC debut. Justin took first prize at the world's most prestigious harpsichord competition, the International Musica Antiqua in Bruges, when just twenty-three. He is acclaimed as "...an artist of fluid, flawless technique, bold ideas, & much sensitivity" (ClassicsToday.com). Justin's Program at Capriccio Baroque includes lush, sumptuous works by French father & son Antoine Forqueray & Jean-Baptiste Forqueray; sparkling virtuoso Sonatas by Italian/Spanish composer Domenico Scarlatti; & the thrilling 20th century avant-garde work 'Continuum' by Hungarian/Austrian composer Gyorgy Ligeti. This unusual Program presents extraordinary, thought-provoking music that pushes the harpsichord to its very limits. A not-to-be-missed concert!
