“The Liberation is street-real and inspirational, the kind of film that will make you look at your own life, and the lives of others, in a different way. It is the most exhilarating documentary I have seen in a long while.”
In the Culinary Training Program of D.C. Central Kitchen, 25 recovering addicts, former drug dealers, recently released felons, and homeless men and women are working through a three-month program in pursuit of a new life. Follow the transformative stories of three of them who put everything on the line for the chance to turn knife skills into life skills. Director Christoph Green will lead a Q&A with the audience after the film.
Green has been a major force in D.C. for more than 19 years in the world of television and filmmaking. He has co-produced and directed a long list of music-related films for artists such as Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists, The Shins, and Wilco. He also has produced many nationally recognized commercials and branding campaigns.
