Be part of the art! In this interactive exhibit by Martha Spak and Suzanne Brennan Firstenberg visitors are invited leave their mark.
There are two ways to participate. One is to submit a line drawing photo of yourself by using the “Sketch Me!” app (see attachment for sharable instructions). All images sent to the museum will be included in a giant community mural. Museum visitors can also participate by coloring a communal mural made up of black and white images of iconic locations in and around Sandy Spring. This visual dialogue invites visitors to explore the artist that resides in each of us and illustrate their unique place in the Sandy Spring community.
Through these activities and two galleries of paintings and sculptures, the artists explore the interwoven quality of the community in this multi-dimensional exhibit. Their works are intended to remind us of the complexity within each of us and the unity that is achieved as we knit ourselves into a larger organism - our surrounding community.
