The Maryland Young Voices Festival concert features six children’s choirs from the state of Maryland.
The Maryland Young Voices Festival is an annual children’s choir festival for community children’s choruses in the state of Maryland. This festival has matured and gained recognition from the community over the past fourteen years. The main goal of this festival is to enhance each singer with music from different cultures and to promote the benefits of cultural exchange through collaboration. The Glorystar Children’s Chorus (Cherie Jeng, artistic director) is hosting the MYVF this year and will be joined by the All Children’s Chorus of Annapolis (Lauren Walker, artistic director), the Baltimore Children’s Choir (Joseph Shortall, artistic director), the Deer Creek Youth Choir (Julie Culotta, artistic director), the Maryland State Boychoir (Stephen Holmes, artistic director) and the Strathmore Children’s Chorus (Michael Wu, artistic director).
The MYVF gala concert will be held at the Mormon Temple Visitors’ Center at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the admission is FREE and open to the public. The concert will include individual performances from each participating choir. The highlight of the concert will be the Festival music performed by the massed choir. The popular song SUNSHINE AND RAIN (陽光和小雨) will be performed in Chinese. The MYVF guest conductors will be Mr. Chris Fox and Ms. Arianna Tam.
