The Washington-area chamber chorus Voices 21 continues its 19th season with a meditative concert featuring the glorious Requiem of 1605 by Tomàs Luis de Victoria.
The Washington-area chamber chorus Voices 21 continues its 19th season with a meditative concert as we journey through grief, faith, comfort, love, and peace. Central to the program is the glorious Requiem of 1605 by Tomàs Luis de Victoria, one of the great Spanish composers of the late Renaissance, written in memory of his longtime patroness. The journey continues with exquisite contemporary works, including the uplifting Lux Aeterna by Edward Elgar arranged for 8 voices, a moving setting of Mother Teresa’s text The Fruit of Silence by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks, as well as other inspirational compositions by Herbert Howells, Eric Nelson, and Fredrik Sixten. Come join us for an afternoon of reflection and beautiful music as we travel together the path to peace.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted at the door.
