STRAUSS Ein Heldenleben
TCHAIKOVSKY Violin Concerto

Marin Alsop leads the Orchestra in Ein Heldenleben, “A Hero’s Life,” one of Richard Strauss’ most exhilarating tone poems and a terrific showpiece for large orchestra. Tchaikovsky’s dashing and elegant Violin Concerto is performed by James Ehnes, one of the world’s most sought-after
violinists. His playing has been described as "effusively lyrical and hair-raisingly virtuosic" (The Guardian).
