Join us for a delightful Sunday afternoon concert.
The concert opens with Bach's fifth suite for solo cello. Harriet Kaplan continues her much-admired series of these gorgeous suites. Next up is Beethoven's Serenade, opus 25, played by flutist Lorie Scott, violinist David Brown, and violist Caroline Brethauer. Commentators describe this work as frisky, airy, galant, and fun.
After intermission we welcome Lydia Leong and Keng Sim who bring us Cesar Franck's magnificent sonata for violin and piano. This is Franck's best-known work, with lush harmonies and glorious interplay between these instruments.
