Amplify US! is unique as a community-driven initiative involving participants across generations. The Amplify US! initiative grew out of a desire to bring together diverse members of the Montgomery County community to create better understanding between residents and decrease bias incidents. The project includes community meetings, workshops that teach community members how to tell their personal stories through spoken word and visual arts as well as performances in which community artists perform alongside professional artists. 

Workshops are a free opportunity for anyone from 7th grade to adult to work with professional artists and learn to better express themselves and tell their story through art. In each workshop, a teaching artist and trained facilitator will guide participants to find their voices and develop techniques to communicate clearly and powerfully. All workshops include both spoken word and visual art and participants will be invited to perform and present their work publicly.
