Haimovitz is a groundbreaking artist often praised for his ingenuity, artistry, and enthusiasm. The cellist made his debut in 1984, at the age of 13, as soloist with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic, and is notably the first classical artist to play at New York’s infamous CBGB club. Colgate, a resident of Takoma Park, Maryland, has led a prestigious career as a chamber and orchestral musician, soloist, and educator. She is passionate about innovating in the world of classical music and co-founded the Boulanger Initiative, an advocacy organization for women composers based in DC.
