Funding Strategies For Your Film

Making a documentary film is exciting, but raising money to make that film can damper that excitement. Raising funds to complete your film is hard work. The good news is that there is a potential audience for every film, and there is also potential money for every film. However, you must take on the challenge to find that audience and find that money. If you think that you have a fantastic idea, you must still prove that others will feel the same way. You must be able to address the basic questions of need, audience, distribution, marketing, crew, budget, and, of course, funding. Some projects raise money following a patchwork strategy by receiving money from different sources. Some projects are supported by one big funder. What’s your strategy?

In this workshop we’ll discuss the following questions:

-What is the right mindset to start raising money for my project?

-Am I prepared to start fundraising for my project?

-Where is the money coming from?

-What is the right fundraising strategy for my film?

We’ll have also interactive breakout sessions in which you will be able to discuss your project and come up with specific funding ideas.

NOTE ON PAYMENT

Full payment must be received to guarantee you a spot in the class. In order to get the discounted earlybird rate, full payment must be RECEIVED by the earlybird date. Otherwise the regular rate will be charged.
