NPR once wrote that Sosa’s piano “is not a musical instrument, but a conduit to spiritual awareness,” and this collaboration transports listeners to an even higher plane. Cañizares lifts the soul with every draw of her violin bow with melodies in turn poignant and exuberant. Her sultry, poetic vocals—sung in Spanish, French, and Yoruba—are moving no matter what your native tongue may be. Sosa and Cañizares’ duet album, Aguas, is an homage to the Santeria goddess Oshun, and the flowing songs evoke water’s hidden powers, infinite transmutations, and relentless creation.

The best way to enter the garage is by making a right turn directly into the garage from westbound Old Georgetown Road (between Grand Park Avenue and Executive Blvd). Follow the signs to the AMP elevator and go directly to level 4. The new Trade Street Garage is located at 11860 Trade Street, North Bethesda, MD 20852, right across from AMP and adjacent to the Per Sei apartments. Both are very convenient to the venue.
