In more than 350 cinemas across six continents, 100,000 film lovers will unite to view and vote on the finalists’ films in the 22nd Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival.
The judges of the finalists' films are you. Upon entry to the Arts Barn, you will be handed a Voting Card & Official Program and asked to vote for the one film and one actor you feel should win. Votes are tallied and sent to the Manhattan Short headquarters in New York City. The overall winner will be announced on Monday, October 7.
Films include: Nefta Football Club (France), Debris (USA), Driving Lessons (Iran), Tipped (Canada), Sylvia (United Kingdom), The Match (Finland), This Time Away (United Kingdom), Malou (Germany), A Family Affair (United Kingdom), and At The End Of The World (USA).
The short films span all genres, each about 20 minutes or under in length (minus credits), so the entire event runs two to three hours. The same films will be screened on both days. Some films may contain mature themes & content.
6 p.m. – Pub Opens
7:30 p.m. – Film Festival Starts
Finalists will be part of the Manhattan Short Oscar Qualifying Run. This means all selected films will screen for a full week at a cinema the county of Los Angeles, which qualifies every film selected in Manhattan Short for an Oscar nomination.
