Black Hill Starry Night - Under The Stars

Join Montgomery Parks and the Montgomery Parks Foundation for a night hike, beer, and s’mores!

Attendees are given the option to experience a guided night hike through the woods to a secret destination known for its spectacular view of the stars. While on the hike, naturalist will instruct you to listen for frog calls, search for owls and other nocturnal animals, observe moths, learn how our senses change at night, and more!

Afterward, warm your chilly fingers while toasting marshmallows over a crackling fire and sipping a hot cocoa OR sip on a tasty brew from Waredaca Brewery while noshing on yummy hors d'oeuvres from Wegmans.

Ticket proceeds support the future SEED Classroom at Black Hill Regional Park.

Nite Hike Facts:

Naturalists can accommodate twenty participants per hike. Each hike leaves promptly at the appointed time and is based on a first come, first served basis.

Hike 1- 7pm

Hike 2- 8:15pm

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Attendees must be twenty-one years of age or older.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking is located at Shelters A & B, Parking Lot I. Shuttles will be provided for attendees to the event site.

Note: Road work will close the intersection of Clarksburg Road (MD 121) from West Old Baltimore Road for construction. West Old Baltimore Road has been scheduled to close since January 28, 2019. The work should continue for the next 14-18 months. Vehicles will not be able to gain access to Black Hill Regional Park from Clarksburg Road (MD 121). All vehicles will need to detour from Clarksburg Road (MD 121) to MD Route 355-south. Please see Detour Map at https://www.montgomeryparks.org/uploads/2019/01/Detour-Map.pdf.

What can I bring into the event?

We suggest attendees wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
