Dan Gutstein and Joshua Weiner read from their poetry. Also includes fun literary trivia quiz and open mic.

Dan Gutstein is the author of Bloodcoal & Honey (poems), non/fiction (stories), and Buildings Without Murders (novel, forthcoming 2020). His writing has appeared in American Scholar, Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, Best American Poetry, and The Penguin Book of the Sonnet, among many other publications. In addition to writing activities, he is co-producer of a forthcoming documentary film, Li'l Liza Jane: A Movie About A Song, and vocalist/lyricist for punk-jazz band Joy on Fire.

Joshua Weiner is the author of three books of poetry (all from University of Chicago Press).   His Berlin Notebook, reporting about the refugee crisis in Germany, was published by Los Angeles Review of Books in 2016 as a digital edition.  A chapbook, Everything I Do I Do Good: Trumpoems (Dispatches from the Poetry Wars, 2018) is available as a free digital download www.disptachespoetrywars.com).  He has received Whiting, Guggenheim, and Rome Prize fellowships, as well as the Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Scholarship, which took him to Berlin in 2012-13.  He is currently finishing a translation from the German of Nelly Sachs' 1959 book, Flight & Metamorphosis.  The poetry editor of Tikkun, he teaches at University of Maryland, and lives in Washington D.C.
