Come to India Day at KID Museum -- and enjoy the crafts, music, and traditions of India with a hands-on, maker focus!
Drop-in activities (included with admission):
Mumbai Rickshaw: Tackle the challenge of building a cardboard rickshaw while you learn how to use electric scroll saws at the same time.
Bandhani: Learn how to make Indian tie-dye using cotton or silk fabric.
Dal Mosaic: Make mosaic artwork out of split legumes like lentils, beans, and peas.
Rakhi Bracelets: Learn how to weave and create your own traditional Rakhi bracelets using beads, red and gold color of threads.
Clay Diya: Make a traditional Diya lamp and add a circuit to light it up!
Write in Hindi: Familiarize yourself with the Hindi alphabet and learn how to write your name in Hindi.
Kolam (Rangoli) design: Learn the traditional art of Kolam — drawing with natural materials, such as powdered rice, colored sand or flower petals around — and create a design to take home.
Cricket to Coding: Learn how cricket is played through a simple coding activity, and experiment how you can write your own code.
