Louis Weeks

Presented by Strathmore at Music Center at Strathmore

By day, Mount Pleasant-based composer and songwriter Louis Weeks pens music for commercials, movies and video games. By night, he imagines soundscapes in electronic music, which has led to the release of his 2014 debut album shift/away. Weeks’ music blends irresistible pop hooks with contemplations of romance, art and architecture, and in one instance, origami. His voice, a boy band’s tenor-falsetto dream, rides above dynamic, unexpected electronic tracks, mixing live acoustic performances with pre-recorded sampled material, alternately lyrical and pulsing, spare and multi-layered. Weeks is set to release his sophomore record in the fall of 2014.

“Look out DC—Louis Weeks will be a name that you’ll most likely hear quite a bit this year. The Mount Pleasant-based musician’s dreamy debut album…highlights his creative genius and undeniable expertise as a composer” (WYPR-FM).
