BlackRock presents “Quotable Quarantine,” its first virtual art exhibit created by students in grades K-12.
BlackRock Center for the Arts presents “Quotable Quarantine,” its first virtual art exhibit created by students in grades K-12 during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Quotable Quarantine” features 41 pieces of original artwork accompanied by a quote that captures each young artist’s quarantine experience.
The "Quotable Quarantine" call for entries generated 155 works of art by students in a variety of media including: drawings, painting, photography, digital art, collage, oil, ink print, mixed media, sculpture, and contemporary craft. The top works of art in each grade group—K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12—were selected through an online public voting poll by more than 1,300 people based on the artworks’ interpretation of theme, creativity and originality, quality of artistic composition, and overall impression.
“Quotable Quarantine” can be viewed virtually on BlackRock’s website from May 22 – July 3 and in person in BlackRock’s Kay Gallery and Gallery II when BlackRock can safely re-open.
