Join us for a captivating, virtual Drawing & Water Media Art Exhibition opening online from Sept. 5 through Dec. 1 2020. Each Labor Day weekend the Friends of the Yellow Barn artist members and studio instructors exhibit their art work at the Yellow Barn Gallery in Glen Echo Park, to express mark making and line quality in all styles of realism and abstraction. This year the Drawing show has expanded to include all water based media work, and will be held online in our new virtually gallery! The online show recognizes the importance of exceptional drawings skills and impressive use of water based media in paintings. The media on exhibit include: color pencil, charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, gouache, and mixed media. A People’s Choice prize award of $250 will be awarded to a member of the Friends, and to a Yellow Barn instructor. Viewers will have a chance to vote for their favorite works online beginning Sept 5 through Oct.5th. The winners will be awarded and highlighted in the gallery show, through the close of the show.

Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo Park

Glen Echo Park is located at 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD, 20812 (this is the intersection of Goldsboro Rd and MacArthur Blvd).
From Northern Virginia, take Route 495 to the exit for the Clara Barton Parkway toward Washington, DC. Take the Exit for Glen Echo. Left at the stop sign on MacArthur Blvd. and left into Glen Echo Park. The Yellow Barn is next to the stone tower.
From Rockville, take 270 South to 495 south toward Northern Virginia. Take the exit for Glen Echo and the Clara Barton Parkway. Exit at Glen Echo and proceed to the stop sign on MacArthur Blvd. Take a left into Glen Echo Park.
From Silver Spring, take East West Highway to Bethesda, turn onto Old Georgetown Road then take a left on Wilson Lane. Follow Wilson Lane for a few miles to MacArthur Blvd. Turn Left onto MacArthur Blvd, then turn right into Glen Echo Park's free parking lot.
Using Public Transportation, take Montgomery County Ride-On bus #29 operating daily from the Friendship Heights metro station on the Red Line.
