"Confronting Difficult Truths" Online Poetry Reading

Presented by Takoma Park Arts at Online/Virtual Space

In a live poetry reading, four local poets will read their timely work which challenges the status quo and our preconceptions about immigrants, the marginalized, and our conflicted history as a nation. The featured poets include Randy Bridgeman, Christine Higgins, Bonnie Naradzay, and Maggie Rosen. Go to https://zoom.us/j/91789237144 to see the reading and take part in a Q&A.

The reading was organized by the City of Takoma Park’s Takoma Park Arts cultural series. Go to takomaparkmd.gov/arts to learn more about our upcoming online events and sign up for our e-newsletter.

Randy is the author of five books of poetry, including South of Everywhere, Mechanic on Duty, The Odd Testament, The Poet Laureate of Cracker Town, and The Not So Happy Hour Poems. Christine has received two Maryland State Arts Council awards and is the author of two chapbooks and a full-length collection titled Hallow.

Bonnie has led writing workshops at a homeless shelter and a retirement center, and her work has been published in New Letters, Split This Rock, and other publications. Maggie’s poetry has been published in a chapbook and featured in Little Patuxent Review, Cider Press Review, and other journals.
