Virtual Musical Performance - Deeper than the Skin

Virtual Musical Performance - Deeper than the Skin

Presented by Sandy Spring Museum at Sandy Spring Museum

Hosted in partnership with FocusMusic – a musical performance about race that is thought-provoking, engaging, and optimistic.

Celebrating and promoting justice and equality, Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway’s presentation Deeper Than the Skin is the story of a decades-long friendship that merged disparate backgrounds of black/white and North/South to discover common ground. Reggie and Greg are committed to reaching across the racial divide with words and music to promote, inspire, and celebrate justice and equality for all.

This is an interactive, engaging invitation to take a step into a new reality. It is an affirmation that a more perfect union begins… with us!

Sandy Spring, with its historically large populations of both Quakers and free Black residents, offers a unique backdrop to this timely program. A steward of the area’s rich legacy for 40 years, Sandy Spring Museum has evolved into a cultural arts center that supports community-driven and educational programs. The Museum’s mission mirrors FocusMusic’s values of community, education, collaboration, and inclusion.
