When Paul Taylor, one of the world’s leading choreographers and an American dance icon, established Taylor II in 1993, he ensured that his dynamic signature works would be seen unhindered by economic or technical limitations by audiences all over the world. The vibrant, six-member touring company, an adjunct of the Paul Taylor Dance Company, brings all the athleticism,  humor and virtuosity of Taylor’s works to intimate stages everywhere, and they will shine brilliantly in BlackRock’s Dance Theater.  During their two-night engagement, Taylor II will present some of the most popular works in their repertoire, from the comical “mega-hit” Funny Papers, to Company B—an ode to the 1940s era and the hit songs of The Andrew Sisters, to Arden Court, noted by The New York Times as “one of the great art works created in the 20th century.” Taylor II will also offer a masterclass for pre-professional and intermediate ballet and modern dance students during their engagement.
