Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini

Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini

Presented by Strathmore at Music Center at Strathmore

Join us for an evening that promises to transport you to Rio de Janeiro via Rockville Pike. Featuring songs in English, Portuguese, and French, this captivating duo draws from impressionism, jazz, and the great Brazilian songwriting tradition.

A sublimely talented young trombonist and vocalist versed in jazz, Brazilian music, and the Afro-Cuban tradition, Natalie Cressman has an impeccable musical pedigree. Cressman is the daughter of vocalist Sandy Cressman and Santana trombonist Jeff Cressman, and found fame as a member of Phish leader Trey Anastasio’s solo project. Ian Faquini “writes astonishingly sophisticated Brazilian pop music” (SF Classical Voice) and is known for his unique compositional style on the guitar. Together, this artistic kinship creates a fully orchestrated sound befitting a much larger ensemble.
