This fall, Word Dance Theater will offer a full session of in person classes so long as it is safe to do so. In person classes will be physically distanced and will adhere to mask guidelines while maintaining the integrity of the Duncan technique and philosophy. Classes will run for 12 weeks, from September 21 through December 14 (no class on Nov. 23).

Most dances contain certain organizing devices. We will explore these devices through discussion, improvisation and our own creative voices in choreography.  We will use these devices as structures for our expressiveness.  “I never taught my students any steps.  I never taught myself technique.  I told them to appeal to their spirit…Art is nothing else.” -- Isadora Duncan.
