Award-winning sports journalist Christine Brennan will speak to the obstacles women have faced in the sports world and the advances they have made, her experience covering the Tokyo Summer Olympics, and her thoughts about the upcoming Beijing Winter
Although women have been professional athletes since the early 20th century, women are still paid far less than their male counterparts and have fewer opportunities to pursue fulltime careers in sports. Let’s hear from one of the most famous women in sports journalism what she thinks about current trends, top women athletes, and the first woman to serve as head coach in the NBA. Award-winning sports journalist Christine Brennan will speak to the obstacles women have faced in the sports world and the advances they have made, her experience covering the Tokyo Summer Olympics, and her thoughts about the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics.
Ms. Brennan has written and spoken on issues ranging from Title IX to the importance of women in sports journalism. She has covered every Olympic Games, summer and winter, since the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This program will be moderated by Tom O’Toole, “happily” retired Senior Editor @usatodaysports.
