A group of talented local painters will have an exhibition and sale of original paintings at The Yellow Barn Gallery on April 23 and 24 from 12 to 5 pm.  “The Power of the Flower: Portraits of Buds and Blooms” will feature approximately 70 works with the theme of flowers, joyful reminders to treasure the natural world, in celebration of Earth Day weekend. The selection of artists includes: Alex Bartman, Pamela Betts, Holly Buehler, Susan Cohen Galego, Tracey Halvorsen, Doug Hamby, Peng Kong, Penny Smith, Liz Stafford, Joan Tycko, Ruthann Uithol, An Xiao.  With depictions of flowers' majestic forms and colors, as well as their fragile yet resilient and playful character, the paintings exhibited will be an elixir of happiness at this challenging time.

The events will take place at the Yellow Barn Gallery in Glen Echo Park at 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, MD  20812.  There will be a reception Saturday, April 23 from 5-8 pm.
