Enjoy an Evening of Spoken Word on the lawn of the Josiah Henson Museum & Park as local artists use their work to put a spotlight on the African American experience.
With long-time spoken word artist, Donney Rose as emcee, four artists will perform their original work on stage. Make sure to stick around after the performances, for an artist Q&A! This free event begins at 6:00 pm with food and beverage for purchase from local vendor Girl on the Vine. Before the show starts, be sure to visit the exhibits of the Josiah Henson Museum – open from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The performance begins at 7:00 pm and guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets for viewing. Recommended for Ages 14 & Up.
About Parks Playhouse: Throughout the summer season, Montgomery Parks is hosting Parks Playhouse with a series of free, live performances to celebrate the artistry of great local artists, troupes, and groups. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs for seating. Stop by a local Montgomery County restaurant on the way and pick up some yummy snacks and make it a picnic!
