MCYO 75th Anniversary Celebration Concerts

Join us as we celebrate MCYO’s 75th Season and experience the passionate artistry of our talented young musicians!  All MCYO ensembles will perform in this special anniversary program.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
1PM PERFORMANCE:
The day kicks off with inspiring performances by students in Future Stars, Young Artists, Symphony, and Kamerata!. Program information will be announced soon.
RECEPTIONS & MUSICAL SPOTLIGHTS ON SMALL ENSEMBLES:
3:30PM (FOLLOWING THE 1PM PERFORMANCE)
6PM (PRIOR TO THE 7PM PERFORMANCE)
All ticketholders are invited to these celebratory receptions featuring pop-up performances and special remarks. Light refreshments will be served.
7PM PERFORMANCE:
The evening concert features performances by Preparatory Strings, Chamber Strings, Chamber Ensemble, and Philharmonic.

In honor of MCYO's 75th Anniversary, the Philharmonic will perform the world premiere of  "In Aqua Sanitas," a multimedia suite for orchestra, vocalists, children’s choir, piano, recorded poetry, and water percussion. Featuring works by Christopher Tin, Michael W. Smith, Karl Jenkins, Charles Coleman, Stefano Sacchi and Lucy Chen '23 (MCYO Philharmonic violinist), this fully immersive and interactive suite takes listeners and performers on a musical exploration of the essence and majesty of water and how it interacts with every aspect of our lives.

Parking in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage is $5.20 during the week and free on weekends. Strathmore is also accessible via Metro's Red Line, Grosvenor-Strathmore station.

Limited short-term parking also is available at specially marked meters along Tuckerman Lane, which do not require payment after 7pm.
