Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn Drive in Rockville hosts the work of Tory Cowles in her solo exhibit “Reflections: Fire on the Water”, the Resident Artists’ “Perspectives” exhibit – along with new work in Gallery 209 and building-wide Open Studios. The September 10th opening will run from 11am – 3pm. Cowles says “The news is so bleak right now. This show is a recognition of how much is at stake in the world, of how much we have to lose. It’s also a memorial to a healthy planet, strong democracies, and relative peace on earth. And finally, these pieces convey the enduring regenerative nature of the basic elements of fire, earth and water, even in the face of catastrophic threats.” The Resident Artists will fill the beautiful Gallery Hall with an exhibit titled “Perspectives”, and the Artists of Gallery 209 will feature new work in the large Gallery and adjoining halls for visitors to discover.
