If you’ve always wanted to write about the most meaningful events and people in your life, the new Tell Us Your Story free class series at Wheaton’s Holiday Park Senior Center is just for you.
Tell Us Your Story - A Creative Writing and Storytelling Program for Older Adults is a free, 9-week class series at Wheaton's Holiday Park Senior Center on Thursdays from April 13 to June 15 (no class on June 8), from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Final storytelling event on Thursday, June 22, from 1 to 2 pm. All experience levels are welcome! You’ll learn to write compelling stories about places you have lived, family, community, occupations, and more. Through creative writing exercises, lectures, discussions, and by reading work aloud, you'll build skills and confidence in writing and get to know your classmates in a lively, welcoming class. Students who want to see their work in print can contribute their writing to a class magazine.
Your teacher, Laura Sturza, has an MA in Writing/Theatre/Communication.
