Presented by Riverworks Art Center at Riverworks Art Center Studios at Alden Farms

Riverworks Art Center announces a NEW monthly program open to the public: The Storytellers Series: Connecting Creatives to the Community starting on Thursday, March 16: 6-8pm.  Location:  Riverworks Studios, 19215 Beallsville Rd., Beallsville, MD 20839.  Our first presenter is Tony Cohen.

Mr. Cohen is the founder of the Menare Foundation at the historic Button Farm, Maryland’s only living history center depicting 19th-century plantation life. He is also the co-founder of the MoCo Lynching Memorial Project, and helped Oprah prepare for her role in Beloved. The Button Farm will be the only stop in Maryland this year in April and May for the statue "Harriet Tubman: The Journey To Freedom".  A gifted storyteller, we'll have the unique opportunity to hear Tony share some of his stories about his work and how you can be a part of it. Join us won't you?

Riverworks’ Storytellers: Connecting Creatives to the Community, is a monthly series bringing creatives together with the community in an intimate show-and-share series. It’s designed to introduce people to all kinds of creatives, and an opportunity for makers to talk about and show their work with an emphasis on storytelling. In a short format form, the artist will share their work followed by a Q&A with the audience. They will be held at the Studio (19215 Beallsville Rd., Beallsville, MD) the third Thursday of the month from 6-8pm starting March 16, 2023. These events will be recorded to share for those unable to attend.
