Registration for Student-Produced Theatre and Music Programs

Presented by The Highwood Theatre at The Highwood Theatre

At The Highwood Theatre, we believe anyone can do theatre.  Our programs:

-Welcome all students, regardless of past experience - no auditions
-Provide a professional, supportive, fun environment, with many avenues of participation
-Feature student-led programs and productions that give each participant his/her own responsibility and role
-Provide great performance and behind-the-scenes opportunities
-Have a fantastic professional faculty helping kids explore all aspects of music and theatre.

The Production Company
Act, sing, dance, and work with your peers to create professional-quality productions; Grades 4-12; Programs after school, and during the day for Home Schooled Students; Conflict-free rehearsal schedule determined by Survey of Participants’ Available Dates

The Tech Crew
Design and create the lights, sound, set, props, costumes for our student and professional productions; Grades 4-12; Programs after school, and during the day for Home Schooled Students; Two days per week

Improv Ensemble
Practice, rehearse and perform improvised games, scenes, monologues, and more; Grades 4-8; After School; 1 meeting per week - 8 week segments throughout the year

A Cappella Ensemble
Create, rehearse, and perform arrangements of pop, musical theatre, and jazz songs using only your voice; Grades 4-12; After School; 1 meeting per week - 8 week segments throughout the year

Playwriting
Work with theatre and playwriting professionals to pen your own one-act play to be produced at Highwood; Grades 6-12; After School; 8 meetings determined by Survey of Participants’ Availability

Introduction to Theatre
Learn about and experience all aspects of theatre in this hands-on class designed to prepare students to participate in full theatre productions; Home schooled students grades 3-8; During the day
1 meeting per week for 8 weeks

Private Lessons
Voice, Piano, Acting, Audition Coaching, for any age or experience level, designed to meet your personal goals;  After School or during the day; enroll anytime.

Parking Info

There is a large public parking garage located two doors down from our Silver Spring office and rehearsal space. Rates in the garage are $0.70/hour. Street parking is also available for $1.00/hour. We do not supply coins for metered parking near our rehearsal space. Please bring plenty of quarters or visit https://mobile-now.us/ to set up a mobile parking account to use in Silver Spring, MD. Parking is free after 7:00 PM and on weekends.
