How to Write a Page Turner

How to Write a Page Turner

Presented by The Writer's Center at The Writer's Center

Whether you're working on a literary novel, a thriller, mystery, or historical fiction, you want readers to keep turning pages! Even 'quiet' novels can be extremely compelling!

During this workshop, published suspense author AX Ahmad (author of The Caretaker and The Last Taxi Ride, both on St Martin's Press) will talk about how to create suspense in a novel. We will discuss the difference between story and plot, and how to find the right beginning for your novel. We will use diagrams and outlines to craft a compelling, suspenseful plot that keeps your narrative moving.

Please bring a notebook and pen, and be prepared for an intense 2 hr session on the craft of suspense! When the class is over, stick around for the free panel Craft of Suspense. The panel will feature Ax Ahmad, Allison Leotta and other published authors as part of the Fall for the Book programming.
