Hand Formed Tea Bowls - Participants will make textured slabs of clay and form them into a tea bowl, or small cup. The texture chosen for the outside of the bowl and the marks of the hand forming process make each tea bowl very personal and unique. This process will introduce participants to forming pottery from raw clay and each participant will complete a unique ceramic vessel they can eventually use at home. Each participant will make a tea bowl (small cup) that will be dried and subsequently glaze fired. The fired tea bowl will need to be picked up on a return visit to Washington ArtWorks, about two weeks after the workshop.
