Pianist Brian Ganz performs music by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy , Ravel and Debussy ‘s “Six Epigraphes Antiques “with Li-Ly Chang
Musical Arts International is pleased to announce its in opening concert featuring world renowned pianist Brian Ganz. The concert will be held on Saturday , October 21at 4 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9545 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20910( between beltway 495 and Georgia Ave.) Brian Ganz is regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation. He is a laureate of both the Margaret Long and Queen Elizabeth International Piano Competitions. The Washington Post has written "One comes away from a recital by pianist Brian Ganz not only exhilarated by the power for the performance but also moved by his research for artistic truth." He is on the faculty of St. Mary's College. He will perform Beethoven Sonata, Chopin Mazurka, Polonaise, Scherzo, Debussy Preludes, Ravel and,with Li-Ly Chang Six Epigraphes Antiques for Piano 4 hands by Debussy.
Li-Ly Chang is a pianist, composer, chamber musician, teacher and recipient of many grants and awards.Her music is the topic of Xinyu Zhang's April 2023 doctoral thesis- A Study of Traditional and Innovative Musical Elements in selected piano works of Li-Ly Chang". She holds National Professional Certification and is the director of the Young Artist Piano Competition, Washington, DC. Free parking, reception. You can enter from the side door of the church which is the concert door to the sanctuary . No steps entering or exiting;wide isle for wheel chair seating .
