MoCo Lore programs feature folk and traditional artists in dynamic and interactive experiences. These programs invite participation from audiences of all ages, fostering a sense of community through the exploration of our shared cultural heritage.
Norouz, or Persian New Year, is celebrated on the first day of Spring annually by millions of people in the regions formerly part of the Persian and Ottoman Empires. Our celebration will include dance performances from many countries which celebrate Norouz, including Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Pakistan, Tajikistan and more. There will also be a presentation of theĀ Haft Seen Table, which is the centerpiece of the home holiday decorations.
This family-friendly program will include an intermission and culminate in a short workshop where the audience can learn a traditional Persian dance.
