(Re)Awaken your Spring classical music senses with the sounds of celestial events, Cinderella, and Ukrainian folktunes! Join us for this family-friendly, free-admission concert at Silver Spring United Methodist Church.
With March's equinox and April's solar eclipse, the NIH Community Orchestra's Spring concert opens with a musical "Equinox" by Katahj Copley, who has composed over 100 works since 2017. Also featured are Romantic-era pieces evoking Cinderella's spring-cleaning -- Rossini's Overture to La Cenerentola -- and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, incorporating Ukrainian folktunes. This concert is presented as part of Silver Spring United Methodist Church's new Dorothy M. Horton Memorial Concert Series, that highlights music and performers from marginalized communities. Free admission with RSVP.
One mile south of the Capital Beltway on Georgia Ave., Silver Spring United Methodist Church offers free parking in rear lot, enter on Ballard St. or First Ave.
