A new state constitution freed enslaved people living in Maryland on November 1, 1864. Join Heritage Montgomery, Montgomery Parks, and our partner sites as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Maryland Emancipation Day. Bring your family to enjoy special commemorative programs, food, games & crafts, music, and more at sites around Montgomery County! Programs are FREE unless otherwise noted.
