Two-Sided Painting Workshop

Two-Sided Painting Workshop

Presented by Sandy Spring Museum at Sandy Spring Museum

Exhibiting artist Holly Stone will lead participants in making paintings on two sides of translucent paper (such as Japanese-style paper, glassine, or tissue paper) with water-based media and an array of techniques. Open your mind and see things from different perspectives, depending on how the light is.

A past president of Women’s Caucus for Art’s DC Metro Chapter and a member of Upstairs Art Studios in Bethesda, Holly Stone is co-curator of the exhibit A Paean to Paper at Sandy Spring Museum, which celebrates the wide range of possibilities for artists when working with paper. She has exhibited at numerous shows in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Chicago. Ms. Stone is supported in part by funding from the Montgomery County Government and from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County as a recipient of a FY 2024 Artists and Scholars Grant.

See Holly’s work in the exhibit A Paean to Paper at Sandy Spring Museum April 28-July 24th.
